There are several factors that can contribute to municipal pipe failure - pH of water, chemical composition, delivery pressure, water temperature, or the material of the pipe. The intent of pipe testing is to identify those domestic, drain or sewer pipe lines that are failing or defective.
In sewer lines, a defect could mean groundwater is able to enter the sewer system. A municipal’s building’s defective domestic supply pipe could result in pinhole leaks, bursts at junctions, and lead contamination from leaching pipe joints. A problematic drain pipe within your facility could cause foul smells and leakages along the lines.
At TDT Plumbing we utilize use an analytical approach to determine which of our various pipe inspection tests is right for your specific job. Our tests vary from using pneumatic test ball, a visual test, a leakage test, a low-pressure air test, infiltration or exfiltration test, or a pipe deflection test. Each test has its own specific methods.
When testing, it is very important to make sure that the lines are clean. We can use hydro-jet cleaning to clean the line. For our visual tests we use state-of the art cameras and inspect the line using CCTV. While pipe leakage tests, whether for air or water leakage, may also be taken via hydrostatic testing or down pipe smoke testing. With our pipe inspection tests, we can help you determine the cause of your pipe failure.
